A Basket of Stories

At its core lies a sculptural floral basket — not merely an aesthetic form, but a symbol of Dubai itself. The basket embodies the city’s spirit: a vessel of exchange, where cultures meet and coexist. It holds within it the shared values of love, respect, open-mindedness, and creativity, woven into one harmonious whole.

As Creative Designer Damien Overputte explains:

“Dubai is a basket for exchange — for mixing of cultures, traditions, and ideas. It is filled with love, respect, open-mindedness, and culture. This installation celebrates that — a cocoon of color that welcomes everyone into its embrace.”

The Art of Floral Balance

Two slender Salix ‘Golden Curls’ towers frame the composition like architectural pillars. Between them, a lush centerpiece unfolds — an opulent harmony of chrysanthemums, Callicarpa berries, and rose hips, in tones of violet, burgundy, and copper. Layers of Dianthus, Nerine, and Limonium ‘Storm Lilac’ add brightness and lift, softening the structure with movement and delicacy.

A Cocoon Before the Journey

The recurring motif of rounded forms — both in the central bouquet and accompanying table arrangements — evokes the continuous flow of travel. It invites guests to pause within a cocoon of beauty and balance, reflecting the city’s inclusive soul.

The Chromatic Cocoon is more than a floral design; it is a metaphor for Dubai itself — a luminous meeting point of worlds, wrapped in color, calm, and creative dialogue.
