Pampas Cloud

An Autumn Harmony Between Flanders and the Dunes
A Seasonal Tribute to Connection
Pampas Cloud stands as a celebration of transition — a floral architecture inspired by the textures of autumn and the timeless dialogue between Europe and the Middle East. Designed to evoke both the grandeur of Dubai’s dunes and the softness of European fall, it invites travelers to pause in a space that feels both grounded and ethereal.
The Central Bouquet – The Pampas Cloud
At the heart of the composition, a soaring pampas grass structure (Cortaderia selloana) captures the essence of autumn’s airiness. Its golden plumes form a “Lunar Cloud” — a gentle horizon of light and motion. The cascading stems below resemble fine roots or desert winds, blending Belgian precision with Arabic movement — like calligraphy written in air.

The Fruits of the Journey
On each side, Proteaceae blooms add warmth and substance. Their amber tones and textured cones bring depth and intensity, symbolizing harvest, abundance, and exploration. These “fruits of travel” stand as reminders of how art, culture, and craftsmanship evolve through exchange.
Belgian Detail, Emirati Opulence
Smaller vases arranged in front introduce a vivid color contrast — Skimmia Rubella, Micronata, or autumn heathers — creating a rhythm of bright accents that echo the Belgian floral tradition. Together, they balance the golden tones of pampas and the earthy strength of Protea, forming a composition that feels both rich and harmonious.

Between Earth and Sky
Pampas Cloud is more than a floral design — it’s a meditation on movement and connection. It reflects the journey from Flanders to Dubai, from rooted craftsmanship to the fluidity of air and sand.
It is, in Damien Overputte’s words, “a cloud suspended between two worlds — where autumn takes flight in gold.”
